Today -- Gardner-Webb. The Runnin' Bulldogs were picked second in the Big South-OVC Preseason Poll after winning the 2022 Big South Championship and topping Eastern Kentucky in the first round of the FCS Playoffs. GWU was tabbed No. 25 in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 poll, and No. 24 in the AFCA Coaches ranking. Head coach Tre Lamb enters his fourth season with the program and has players on both the Walter Payton and Buck Buchanan Award Watch Lists to begin the season. Running back Narii Gaither is on the Payton Watch List after rushing for 1,019 yards and seven touchdowns a year ago, while Ty French found his way on the Buchanan List after recording 72 tackles, including 15 for loss, a year ago.
