FCS Top 25 Polls Update - Sept. 18

Following Week Three of the season, the latest Top 25 polls have been released. 

Southeast Missouri dropped a close game to nationally-ranked Southern Illinois in the final seconds on Saturday. The Redhawks slipped from No. 13 to No. 16 in the Stats Perform Poll and from No. 15 to No. 20 in the AFCA FCS Coaches Poll. The Redhawks (1-2, 1-0) is back in action this week at former OVC foe Eastern Kentucky.

UT Martin (2-1) smashed HCU on Saturday, rolling up 707 yards of total offense on its way to a 66-7 victory. The Skyhawks continue to receive votes in the Stats Perform Poll, coming in unofficially at No. 26, 23 points behind No. 25 Villanova. The Skyhawks will look to remain undefeated against FCS competition when they travel to North Alabama this weekend.

Tennessee State (2-1, 1-0) opened Big South-OVC play with a final seconds victory over Gardner-Webb (1-2, 0-1) thanks to a 50-yard field goal from James Lowery. Both TSU and GWU are receiving votes in the Stats Perform Top 25 this week. The Tigers have an open date in its schedule with the Runnin' Bulldogs will have FBS foe East Carolina on Saturday.

After its win over No. 25 Illinois State, Eastern Illinois (2-1) received votes in the Stats Perform Poll. It is the first time since the beginning of the 2018 season that the Panthers have picked up votes in the media poll (they received votes in the Coaches poll on September 5 of last season).  EIU will look to remain undefeated against FCS competition when they host McNeese on Saturday.
