Football 1/3/2024 8:42:31 PM TSU's Allen Named FCS ADA National Defensive Player of the Year • FCS ADA National Player of the Year Release Tennessee State senior defensive lineman Terrell Allen has been named the 2023 Division I Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association (FCS ADA) National Defensive Player of the Year. In December, Allen was announced as one of 11 players named to the FCS ADA All-America Team; the awards are coordinated in coordination with the 13 FCS conference offices, After an incredible year Allen has also been named the Big South-OVC Defensive Player of the Year and was a unanimous All-American selection, earning first-team honors from eight differnet organizations: AFCA, Associated Press, FCS ADA, FCS Football Central All-American, HBCU, Phil Steele, Stats Perform and Walter Camp. Allen led the FCS in sacks (14.5), sack yardage (123), tackles for loss (28) and tackle yardage for loss (149) in the regular season. The 6-foot, 275-pound senior finished with 65 tackles, including 44 solos, had 10 quarterback hurries, five forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one pass breakup.
