Following Week 5 of the season, the latest Top 25 polls have been released. 

Tennessee Tech (4-0) played its first road game of the season, knocking off in-state foe Tennessee State 35-8.  The team jumped from No. 11 to No. 9 in the AFCA Coaches Poll, marking the highest ranking for the program in the I-AA/FCS era (since 1978).   The team is ranked No. 11 in the Stats Perform Poll, up two spots from last week.   TTU will host Western Illinois this weekend.

Gardner-Webb (2-2), who is undefeated against FCS competition this year (2-0), is coming off an open date this week. The Runnin' Bulldogs are receiving votes in both Top 25 polls. The team will host Charleston Southern in the North-South BBQ Bowl on Saturday.
